Backflow Installation & Testing questions
How often does a backflow preventer need to be tested?
Annually. California water agencies require yearly testing and certification of backflow prevention assemblies by a certified tester, and the results are filed with your water purveyor. A failed assembly has to be repaired or replaced before it passes.
